October 15, 2009 SHERMAN - Nina Lillian Wingo, 91, of Sherman passed away on Monday, October 12, 2009. Arrangements were under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 16 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Roland Ouellette of East Sherman Baptist Church officiated. Nina was the seventh of nine children. She was born on May 13, 1918 in Dorchester, the daughter of G.T. and Lillian King Faulkner. After attending school at Range Creek in Grayson County, she married John Peyton Wingo on July 12, 1936 in Odessa. He preceded her in death October 8, 1962. She was a longtime Sherman resident. She worked for a time at Wacker's Department Store and also painted fishing lures for Whopper Stopper in Sherman. She was a member of East Sherman Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; six brothers and a sister. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Jean McMillan and husband, Floyd of Irving; a son, John Wayne Wingo and wife, Anita of Aransas Pass; grandchildren, Forrest McMillan and wife, Leianne of Abilene; April McMillan Hiler and husband, Tommy of New Braunfels; and Jennifer Wingo Coggins and husband, Darrel of Aransas Pass; great-grandchildren, Samantha McMillan and Peyton McMillan of Abilene; and a sister, Clara Dell Tedford of Fort Worth.
