Established 1948   Sherman Democrat August 26, 1963 Funeral services for Sammy E. Wright, 28, who lived in Sherman route 3 in the Plainview Community, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Johnson-Moore Chapel, Denison. Burial was at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Wright died at Dallas Veterans Hospital Sunday where he had been a patient more than a month.. He was born in Grayson County, February 24, 1940, the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Wright. He attended Odessa schools and was married in Odessa May 14, 1962 to Evelyn Wilson. He was a truck driver. He served in the Army three years with a tour of duty in Germany where he received a back injury in an accident. He was a member of the Hagerman Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of Sherman route 3; his mother, Mrs. Gladys Hines of Keatchie, Louisiana; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wright of the Plainview Community; Mrs. Della Wright, Pottsboro and L. Riggs, Hillsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Billy Thompson of Abilene and Mrs. Harris E. Wilson of Odessa.
