Established 1948 Denison Herald December 8, 1992 pg.A-2 DENISON - Funeral for Woodrow Vernia Utter, 78, of Denison, who died December 6, 1992, at his residence, was at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Johnson-Moore Funeral Home, with Rev. Billy Bush officiating. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Utter was born May 7, 1914, in Claremont, Ohio, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Utter. A retired operation engineer in road construction and past president of Happy Heart School for Retarded Children in Ohio, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. Utter was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion. He married Mary Wood July 2, 1945 in Ohio. Surviving are his wife; three sons, Woodrow Jr. of Tucson, Arizona, Raymond of Leeds, Alabama, Thomas of Denison; three daughters, Sandra Hamilton of Jefferson, Ohio, Jane Beal of Ashtabula, Ohio, Linda Utter of Mesquite; brother, Arch Jr. of New Richmond, Ohio; three sisters, Verlie Mofford, Virginia Brown, both of Bethel, Ohio, Gladys Phillips of Cincinnati, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Woodrow Utter, Raymond Utter, Thomas Utter, James Orgel, Harry Beal and Arch Utter.
