Established 1948  Sherman Democrat April 22, 1992 Services for Mrs. Lois Marie Flynt Underwood, 71-year-old former Sherman resident, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. She died Monday at her home in Collinsville. Rev. A.W. Blaine, retired Baptist minister of Collinsville, officiated. Keith Byrom, a grandson of the deceased, offered a eulogy. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Underwood was born in Whitewright, a daughter of Earnest Lee Atkinson and Laura Lane Atkinson. On August 29, 1941, she married Phillip W. Flynt in Denison. After his death, she married D.L. Underwood October 19, 1974 in Collinsville. A former longtime Sherman resident, she moved to Collinsville in 1974. She worked in the jewelry department of Gibson's Discount Store for several years. A former member of North Park Baptist Church in Sherman, she moved her membership to the First Baptist Church in Collinsville several years ago. Surviving are her husband; daughters, Carolyn McComas and Phyllis Langenegger, both of Oklahoma City; stepson, Don Underwood of Collinsville, sister, Mrs. O.E. Davis of El Paso; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Phillip Shadid, Cary Shadid, Jeffery McComas, Keith Byrom, Bud Snyder, Bill Winter, Clifford Carney and O.M.Quattlebaum. Memorials may be made to the American Heart fund, Grayson County Division, P.O.Box 1234, Sherman, 75091.
