Established 1948   Sherman Democrat December 6, 1992 A-18 Services for Paul E. Thurmond of Sherman, 44, who died Thursday in Medical Plaza Hospital, were held Saturday in Waldo Funeral Home. Larry Harris of Northside Church of Christ in Bonham officiated. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Thurmond was born in Sherman, son of Marvin Thurmond and Wineth Goodman Thurmond, and married Nettie Henry Wilson December 17, 1988 in Sherman. He was an Army veteran. He was a former member of AMVETS and a life member of the Elks Lodge. He had been employed by Fisher Control for the last 15 years. Surviving are his wife; stepson, Bob Stewart of Sherman; father, Marvin Thurmond of Bonham; stepmother, Hazel Thurmond of Bonham; and sister, Elva Lucas of Sherman. Pallbearers were Bob Harris, Mickey Boatman, Tim Edwards, Howard Sanders, William Scarbrough and James Brinkley. Memorial may be made to Texoma Chapter of Alcoholic Anonymous, 300 W.
