 The Herald Democrat July 21, 2011 Denison - Ruth Mae Thornhill, 94, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 in Paramount Nursing Home in Pasadena, Texas. Funeral services were held Friday morning, July 22, 2011 at Chapel on the Hill in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas with Rev. Brett Castle officiating. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Ruth was born on November 17, 1916, daughter of Daniel Oliver Brinkley and Mary Ester Zuver. She married Bennie Parker in 1964. She was a member of East Baptist Church in Denison and was a homemaker. She is survived by son, Robert Daniel Jones of Pasadena; brother, Harold Lloyd Brinkley and wife, Mildred, of Burleson, Texas; sister-in-law, Betty Brinkley of Bells, Texas; grandchildren, Robert D. Jones, Jr. and wife, Brenda; Chris Jones and wife, Sue; Dale Jones and wife, Helga; David Jones and wife, Sammie; great-grandchildren, Robert D. Jones, III and wife, Jim; Adam Jones; Britney Jones; Haley Jones; and great-great-grandson, Damien Jones. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Helen; brothers, David and Clyde; and daughter-in-law, Jo Jones. Arrangements were entrusted to Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison, Texas.
