Established 1948   The Herald Democrat November 12, 2010 Denison, Texas - Donald Gene Thomas, 77, entered into eternal life Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at his home. Mr. Thomas was born March 21, 1933, son of George and Shirley McGill Thomas. Donald worked at W.J. Smith for 41 years. He married Wanda Watson October 1, 1982 in Durant, Oklahoma. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife; son, Jerry "J.D." Thomas and wife, Celia, of Denison; daughter-in-law, Kay Watson; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Thomas and wife, Bobbie Dean, of Colbert, Oklahoma; sister, Ellen Thomas of Denison; and a host of nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his son, Gary Thomas; parents; step-mother, Janie Thomas; sister, Jan Thomas; and 2 stepsons, David Watson and Terry Watson. Graveside services were held Saturday morning, November 13, 2010 in Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.  The Herald Democrat January 2, 2019 Wanda Eugenia Thomas, 90, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Thursday, December 27, 2018 at her home in Denison. Mrs. Thomas was born April 1, 1928 in Sherman, daughter of Merrill and Edith Buchanan Watson. Wanda was preceded in death by husbands, Roy Watson, Jr. and Donald Thomas. She loved her family and enjoyed being involved with her children and grandchildren's activities. She also enjoyed traveling, sending and receiving cards, needlework, and was known for her cooking skills. Wanda was a member of First Christian Church for many years. Mrs. Thomas leaves behind her daughter-in-law, E. Kathryn "Kay" Watson of Linden; step-son, Jerry Thomas and wife, Celia, of Denison; sister-in-law, Ellen Hesse and husband, Darrell, of Denison; grandchildren, Christopher Watons and wife, Maria, of Midland; Kyle Thomas and wife, Kippy, of Dallas; Ashley Wood and husband, Trevor, of McKinney; Jacob Watson and wife, Melanie, of Red Waters; Cory Watson and wife, Lori, of Burleson; numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Roy Watson, Jr. and Donald Thomas; sons, David Watson and Terry Watson; and step-son, Gary Thomas. Funeral services for Mrs. Watson were held Wednesday afternoon, January 2, 2019 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Matthew Wilson officiating. Interment followed in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Pallbearers were Jerry Thomas, Kyle Thomas, Darrell Hesse, Trevor Wood, Cory Watson and Eddie Bradshaw. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home of Denison.
