Thornhill 1917 - 2010 Sherman Thornhill 1909 - 1991 Leon Leon; anF Herald Democrat June 13, 2010 Graveside funeral services for Naomi Elizabeth Thornhill were held Monday, June 14, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in the Chapel on the Hill. Bro. Roland Ouellette of East Sherman Baptist Church officiated. Honorary pallbearers were Butch Thornhill, Bill Thornhill, Tom Freeland, Don Anderson, Chuck Bell, Lee Saylors, Aaron Thornhill and Brian Thornhill. Services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Naomi passed away Friday, June 11, 2010 at Hilltop Haven Nursing Home, Gunter, at age 92. Naomi was born October 3, 1917 in Denison, daughter of W.A. and Ora Bell Adams. She married Sherman Thornhill in 1933. She was employed by Pool Manufacturing and retired from Day Manufacturing after 33 years. She was a faithful member of East Sherman Baptist Church. She was very createive, loving any kind of crafts, especially quilting and ceramics. She had a "green thumb" and a passion for gardening resulting in a beautiful yard full of a variety of flowers. She loved to sing Gospel music and play her organ. She is survived by sons, Leon Thornhill and wife Joan of Howe; and Grady Thornhill and wife, Wilma, of Sherman; garndchildren, Cindy Freeland and husband, Tom, of Early; Butch Thornhill and wife, RaeAnn, of Princeton; Anna Anderson and husband, Don, of Bells; Tammy Bell and husband, Chuck, of Sherman; Bill Thornhill and wife, Trisha, of Denison; 13 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Two special nieces, Linda Dunsmore and Martha Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Elmer Adams, W.A. Adams, Jake Adams, Elbert Adams, Boyd R. Adams; sister, Ruth Davis; and grandson, Dickie Thornhill. The family would like to extend "special" thanks to the nurses, aides and support staff on Collier Hall - Hilltop Haven Nursing Home for the tender loving care that was given our loved one. Each of you added s unshine to her day and a smile to her face. Also, thanks to the VNA Home Hospice for your special touch.
