- Gearl D. "Jerry" Thomas, 73 year old Denison resident, died Tuesday,
May 15, 2001, at his residence. Services were held Friday
afternoon, May 18, 2001 in Johnson-Moore Chapel with Rev. Keith Taylor
officiating. Masonic graveside services were held in Cedarlawn Memorial Park, conducted by the Billie Mosse Masonic Lodge #1152, AF & AM. Military services were also held. Mr. Thomas was born October 6, 1927 in Paris, Texas, son of Will and Annie Perry Thomas. On October 31, 1964 he married Gisela Rieper in Giebelstadt, Germany. Mr. Thomas was a chef at Woodlawn Country Club in Sherman and retired from there. He was a member of the Billie Mosse Masonic Lodge #1142, AF & AM. Surviving are his wife, Gisela Thomas, of Denison; son, Mark Kevin Thomas of Arizona; daughters, Sandy Sue Thomas and Wendy Marie Thomas, both of Denison; brothers, Will Thomas of Strong, Arkansas; Jack Thomas of Blossom, Texas; John D. Thomas of Post Oak, Texas; and Robert Wallace of Faught, Texas; sisters, Sue Roberts of Blossom, Texas; Wilma Thomas of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; and Janie Brinson of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Carlie Marie Fagan of Denison; Gabby Thomas of Arizona; William Thomas of Arizona; and Jessica Thomas of Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Alvis Clyde Thomas, James Homer Thomas, and Lawrence Lee Thomas; and 2 sisters, Charlise Marie Ketcham and Mildred Smith.
