She was 84. She is survived by her son, Randle, and two daughters, Caroline and Alanna. She had seven grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. Othel Rich was born on August 16, 1921 in Savoy, Texas. She was the youngest of four children. Soon after graduating from Savoy High School, she married Randle Osborn (Ossie) Tune in Denison in September, 1940. They were married 57 happy years and had three children. Ossie worked for MKT Railroad 45 years before retiring at age 70. Othel owned The Nail Factory for 28 years. Soon after marriage the two joined Calvary Baptist Church, where they poured into the lives of members, and went out and shared the love of Christ to the people of Denison. Ossie passed away in September 1996. Othel remained a faithful member of calvary until the day she passed. She went on various mission trips, including a trip to Mexico at age 81 in the heat of Summer. Othel's mission in life was to share the immeasurable Grace that comes from knowing Jesus Christ. She talked about her Lord and Savior at the grocery store, the gas station and on the phone. Wherever she went, she boldly proclaimed the Gospel of Christ. She opened her home to anyone that needed a place to stay, knowing that the home that awaited her was in heaven. Her vision was for Calvary to build a small prayer chapel on their new property where one day they will have a new place of worship. If you have a desire to contribute to this vision, please make memorials in Othel's name to Calvary Baptist Church, 300 W. Acheson, Denison, Texas 75020. Othel claimed she would meet us at the gates of heaven. If her life on Earth is any indication, she will be waiting for us with open arms.
