Established 1948 Denison Press December 31, 1959 Funeral services for George W. Tropp, 78, local carpenter and well known in the building line here for many years, died December 22, at a local hospital following an illness of 7 years. He resided at 1431 West Mina, his home for the past 53 years. He was given treatment at a local hospital for the last 3 days before his death. Born at Lafayette, Indiana, August 1, 1881, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Tropp. His schooling was received at Stanberry, Missouri. He married May 14, 1908, Miss Susie Chambers, a Denison young lady, and to the union 5 sons and 1 daughter was bborn, all of whom survive. Mr. Tropp was a carpenter and had retired some years back. He was a member of the Methodist church and also the local Carpenters union. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, December 26, from Johnson-Moore funeral home with Johnson-Moore directing and Dr. Bob S. Ramsay officiating. Interment was at Cedarlawn. He is survived by his widow; also 5 sons, George W., Jr., Denison; Walter, Springfield, Missouri; John, David L. and Stanley of Denison; and Robert Earl of Jacksonville, Mississippi. One daughter survives, Mrs. Bessie O'Gordon, Plainview. Brothers, surviving are Lionel Tropp, Glendale, California; Dr. R.A. Tropp, Wadsworth, Kansas; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Barbara Selson, North Hollywood, California; and Mrs. Cleo Searles, Lebanon, Indiana. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
