Established 1948  Denison Herald April 22, 1994 pg 2 Sherman - Graveside service for J. C. Toppings, 82, who died April 20, 1994 at Wilson N. Jones Memorial Hospital, were held Saturday at Cemdarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Jim Montgomery officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Toppings was born in Sumner, son of Porter and Susie Evans Toppings. He married Edna Honeycutt Wisely on April 9, 1988, in Sherman. He was a longtime Sherman resident and was employed by Ford Motor Co. for 33 years. He reitred in 1975 from Utter-Barksford. He was a volunteer for Sherman Arts Fest for 10 years and was grand marshal in 1992. He was a member of East Sherman Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of Sherman; and one step-son, Fred Wisely of Houston.
