Rev. Beth Besterfeldt of the Friendship United Methodist Church officiated with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mrs. Trolinger passed away Saturday, July 3 at Texas Healthcare Presbyterian-WNJ Medical Center. Jerry Frances Earnest was born in Calera, Oklahoma on September 22, 1934. Her parents moved to Borger, Texas where she graduated high school in 1952. She married Leroy O. Trolinger in August 1952. They had one daughter, Vickie Lynn, who was their pride and joy. Leroy's job took them to Baghdad, Iraq for 3 years. When they returned to the states, he took a job with Chevron in Fort Madison, Iowa as a Safety Engineer. At that time, Jerry entered college at Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa and graduated from the nursing program. After graduation she began her nursing career as a staff nurse at Fort Madison Community Hospital ICU. She and Leroy took an early retirement and moved to Sherman, Texas to be near family. Transferring her membership from the First Christian Church in Fort Madison, she became a member of the Friendship United Methodist Church in Sherman. She worked for Sherman School District until her husband's illness kept her home to care for him. He passed away in 1997 and she began volunteering at Wilson N. Jones as a Pink Lady and at Meals on Wheels in Sherman, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Robert Vanneste; one granddaughter, Katie Cummings and her husband Jason; grandson, Allen St. Clair; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Bob Deffibaugh; several nieces and nephews; her dear friend, Larry Harrington; and of course, her kitties. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Essie Earnest and a brother, Carroll David Earnest. Memorials may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church or Meals on Wheels, both in Sherman. She loved her family, friends and community dearly, as she demonstrated through her dedication and generosity. Lastly, she thanks you all for making her life's journey the very best it could be. God bless. Cedarlawn Cemetery Susan Hawkins © 2024 If you find any of Grayson County TXGenWeb links inoperable, please send me a message. |
