Established 1948   Sherman Democrat Sunday, June 6, 1965 pg.13 JAMES DANIEL STRIDE DIES HERE FRIDAY James Daniel Stride, Sr., 59, of 1302 E. Cherry, died at 12:20 p.m. Friday, June 4, in a Sherman hospital after several weeks' illness. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Ledbetter of the Central Baptist Church conducting services. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Stride was born July 2, 1906 in Pennsylvania and married Miss Dorothy E. Stockwell in 1932. She died in 1952. He was a mechanic and had been employed by the Sherman Foundry. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving are 4 daughters, Mrs. Gloria Sterling of Dallas; Mrs. Barbara Dalton of Germany; Mrs. Carolyn Thomason and Mrs. Sharon Griffin, both of Sherman; 2 sons, James D. Stride, Jr. of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, and Paul K. Stride of California; and 18 grandchildren.
