Denison - Funeral for Alfred "Al" Sinor, Jr., 68, of Denison, who died April 9, 1995 at his home, were held Tuesday afternoon at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Bilderback officiating.  Masonic graveside services were held in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements were under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
Sinor was born August 7, 1926 at Carpenter's Bluff, son of Alfred and Cora Belle Dodson Sinor.  He attended Golden Rule School and graduated from Denison High School.  Upon graduation he joined the Army, serving during World War II.  He married Doris Louise Killough November 15, 1952 at Durant, Oklahoma.  He retired as a letter carrier in 1970 and then went to work for Maytex Manufacturing in Terrell as a salesman, retiring in 1978.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he was active in the Calvary Baptist Brotherhood and was co-chairman of the ushers at the church for 5 years.  A very active member of the Masonic Order, Sinor was Past Worshipful Master of Lone Star Masonic Lodge #403; member of Billie Mosse Masonic Lodge #1152, Past Most Excellent High Priest of Denison Chapter #138, Royal Arch Masons; Past Thrice Illustrious Master of Denison Council #83; Royal & Select Masters; member of Denison Commandry #24; Knights Templar; member of the Dallas Scottish Rite Bodies; member of the Hella Temple Shrine in Garland; Past President of the North Texas Shrine Club of Grayson and Fannie Counties; life member of the Order of the Silver Trowel of Texas; life member of the Order of High Priesthood of Texas; life member of the Ancient Order of Camel Herders; life member of Knights Templar Eye Foundation.
He helped at least 93 children from this area be submitted to Shrine and Scottish Rite Hospitals in the last 10 years.  He was chairman of the Bucket Brigade for raising money for the Shrine Hospitals for Crippled Childlren for the past 4 years.
Sinor assisted the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in their Turkey day dinners for American Cancer Research for 8 years.
Survivors include his wife; son, Jerry Bob Sinor of Dallas; 2 daughters, Cynthia Ann Ridgedell and Sherri Lynette Gee of Denison; 3 sisters, Helen V.  Holland and Artie Lee Anderson, both of Denison; and Betty Lou Jansen of Redding, California; and 7 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Don Doyle, Albert Rector, Grady Cobble, Billy Stevens, Clyde Todd and Bob Dereberry.
