 Denison - Ruth V. Smith, 70, of Route 4, died Monday in a local hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Rogers officiating. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Al Sinor, Ben Arnold, Morris Finley, Dub Walker, Leonard Faulkner, and Calvin Crowell. Bratcher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Smith was born May 29, 1920 in Tyler, Missouri, daughter of Thomas R. and Fannie Payne. She married Wallace A. Smith on February 8, 1946 in Pasadena, California. Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Denison and was past president of the Order of Beauceants. Surviving are a brother, John R. Payne of Clinton, Arkansas; and a sister, Elizabeth Jones, of San Jacinto, California. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
