Spring - Howard "Dick" Smith, 73, of Big Spring, Texas died Saturday,
January 27, 1990 in a local hospital. Graveside services were
held in Cedarlawn Cemetery in Sherman, Texas under the direction of
Bratcher Funeral Home. He was born October 13, 1916 in Jasper, Alabama and married Jackie Biby on October 31, 1986 in Big Spring. He moved here from Great Falls, Montana where he was a member of the VFW and Foreign Legion. He owned and operated a frozen foods distributorship in Montana and retired in 1983. He was an avid gardener. Survivors include his wife, Jackie, of Big Spring; 2 daughters, Barbara Liston of Arlington and Bettye Darrow of Montgomery, Alabama; one son, Stephen Smith of San Angelo; one step-daughter, Pat Anderson, of Midland; 9 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
