Established 1948  Denison - Graveside services for Perry Alben Sweeney, 96, were held Tuesday morning at Cedarlawn Cemetery. Mr. Sweeney, a Denison resident, died Sunday, November 28, 1993 at Texoma Medical Center. Rev. Katie Hopper and Dr. Jimmie Hopper officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home.
Mr. Sweeney was born in Denison, son of Perry Willis Sweeney and Sarah Alta Moore Sweeney. He married Caroline Nicholas on September 11, 1943 in Terra Haute, Indiana. He was an inspector for US Steel Corporation, retiring in 1965. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Denison, Texas. Survivors include son, Perry A. Sweeney of Basalt, Colorado; sisters, Clara Smith of Denison; Josephine Pate of Denison; and Rosalee of Sherman. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 147, Denison, Texas.
