A19 Services for James Luther Souther, 96-year-old retired farmer of Route 4, Sherman, who died Thursday at LaBoure Care Center in Dallas, were held Saturday afternoon at Waldo Funeral Chapel. Rev. Clyde Singleton of Denison Bible Baptist Church and Rev. Clayton Wallen, Baptist minister of Dallas, officiated. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Souther was born in Bells, son of James Abraham and Samantha Huffer Souther, and married Dolly Belle Anderson on February 7, 1920 in Sherman. He farmed in the Ida community for many years before making his home with his daughter in Dallas. He was a member of the Ida Baptist Church. Surviving are his son, James Souther of Denison; daughter, Mrs. Lois Harris of Dallas; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Alan Souther, Gerald Souther, Bobby Jackson, Dexter Jackson, Rex Holloway and T.J.
