Established 1948 The Denison Press Friday, July 13, 1956 pg. 5 Funeral services for L.C. Skaggs, 53, were held in the First Baptist Church Sunday afternoon with Dr. Bob N. Ramsay officiating. Interment was in Cedarlawn with Bratcher-Moore in charge. Mr. Skaggs died suddenly at his home, 1009 W. Crawford July 4 at 1:30 p.m. He was employed as a foreman at the Denison Cotton Mill where he had worked for 7 years. He came to Denison from Waco and had also worked at West Station, Texas. He was born in Whitewright July 26, 1903, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Skaggs. He was married in Sherman March 2, 1925 to Fannie Rollin. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 117 in Sherman. Survivors are his wife; a son, Leland C. Skaggs, Jr., Tyler; two daughters, Beverly Ann and Lynda Kay of Denison; two brothers, James W. Skaggs, St. Louis; and Ryall L. Skaggs, Denison; four sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Shipley, Dodge City, Kansas; Mrs. James Adams, St. Louis, Missouri; Mrs. A.L. Fleig, Shiveley, Kentucky; and Mrs. Frank Stewart, Valley Station, Kentucky; and one grandchild.
