E. Sistrunk of Sherman, who died at 11;15 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 1980,
in a Sherman nursing home, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Waldo Funeral
Chapel in Sherman. Interment was in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Sherman.
Mr. Sistrunk was born January 12, 1901, and married Edith Adams on January 8, 1935, at Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a retired car inspector with the Southern Pacific Railroad. He retired in 1965 after 32 years of service. He was active in ranching, attended Yoakum public schools and Baldwin Business College. He was a member of the Travis Masonic Lodge No. 117 in Sherman, a charter member of the Texoma Quarter Horse Association, Chair Key Round-up Club of Enid, Oklahoma, member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Carmen of America. He was known for raising longhorn cattle, and in earlier years, for his yolk of oxen and wagon used in area parades. He was also a member of the Twin City Baptist Church, Survivors include his wife of Sherman; one daughter, Judy Stallings of Windom; one sister, Lillie Tolbert of Sherman; and two grandchildren.
