Established 1948   Auburn, Nebraska - Funeral services for Betty Ruth Smith were held at 10:00 am Friday, October 30 at Waldo Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Venable officiating. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Smith, formerly of Sherman, passed away at her home Saturday, October 24 in Auburn, Nebraska at the age of 80. Betty was born on March 19, 19298 in Sherman to the late Lester and Thelma (Bowman) Campbell. Betty attended Grayson County College, receiving her nursing degree in 1972. She later received a BS in Health Care Administration from East Texas State University in 1979. She was employed many years at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center and Medical Plaza Hospital. Mrs. Smith is survived by five sons, Darrell, Joseph, Lee, Jon, and Chad, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Smith.
