Jack Edward Spears, 73, of Denison, passed away on July 20, 2923 after a 15 years battle with lymphoma, which he never gave up or lost hope.
Jack was born August 8, 1949, son of Paul R. "Pete" and Clara Spears in Denison.  After graduating from Denison High School in 1967, he volunteered to join the United States Marine Corps.  He served one year in the infantry, before injuring his knee in a training accident which resulted in honorable discharge.
He met his first wife, Vicky Williams, in 1975 and married in 1976.  The had 2 children, Regina Lynn and Paul Michael. T hough divorced for over 40 years, they remained close friends until the end, with Vicky and Regina at his bedside when he passed.
Jack was always an active member of the community and was a member of the Elks, American Legion, Eagles and VFW Auxiliary. He led the Elks in 1995-1996 as the lodge's Exalted Ruler and always chaired their Christmas bowling tournament at  Sher-Den Lanes to provide food baskets for needy families in Denison, among many other charities.
He was a long-time member of the Professional Bowlers Association and coached youth leagues at Sher-Den Lanes.
After retiring from the Union Pacific Railroad in 2028, Jack spent his time still volunteering with the Elks, traveling to San Diego, California to visit his son Paul where he still lives, and visiting with friends for breakfast at the lake.
Jack was predeceased by his parents; his middle sister, Mary; second wife, Sue; and third wife, Kitty. 
He is survived by his first wife and close friend, Vicky; sister, Betty Ann Hayes; daughter, Regina and son-in-law, Mike Colucci; granddaughters, Charlize and Ashely. He is also survived by his son Paul and daughter-in-law, Nicole;  grandsons, Jack, George, Grayson and granddaughter, Harley.
Graveside service for Jack was held Friday morning, August 4, 2023 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas.
