Established 1948   Savoy, Texas - Lois Marie Saltzman passed away on August 22, 2017 in Sherman. She was born May 3, 1933 in Star, Texas near Denison. Her parents were Marvin Earnest Thompson and Pearlie Mae Ladd Thompson. Lois married John Milton Saltzman October 23, 1957 and he preceded her in death in January of this year. Lois completed her education at Whitesboro High School. She worked as a Clerk for Mrs. Baird's Bread for a number of years; she was an avid Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys fan. She was very involved in her children's activities as they were growing up, and she was an expert seamstress as well as enjoying quilting and embroidery. A graveside service was held Saturday, August 26 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman with Rev. Bill Neal, Jr. officiating. Lois is survived by her son, David Milton Saltzman and wife Kathy of Savoy; daughters, Sandra Jeannie McDowell of Houston; two grandchildren, Drew Saltzman and wife Jessica and Sara Porter and Christopher along with two great-grandchildren, Riley Rae Porter and Nolan Andrew Saltzman.
