Established 1948 The Herald Democrat June 10-11, 2014 Sherman - Charlene Reynolds, 87, of Sherman, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Texoma Healthcare Center of Sherman. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at North Park Baptist Church, Rev. Danny Wood of West Sherman Baptist Church officiated. Interment followed in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Charlene was born May 29, 1927 in Dripping Springs, Texas, daughter of Otis Irvin and Berthal Thurman. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1944. As a young woman, she spent several years as an X-Ray technician at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman. On May 10, 1947 she married Billy Young Reynolds in Sherman. They raised 5 boys together and were, at different times, active members of North Park Baptist and West Sherman Baptist churches. In later years, Charlene volunteered at the Sherman Public Library and in several area nursing homes. Charlene is survived by her sons, Michael and April Reynolds of Portland, Oregon; Kenny Reynolds of Luella, Texas; Chris and Judith Reynolds of Pottsboro, Texas; and Mark and Vicki Reynolds, of Allen, Texas; brother, Ronnie Irvin of Quinlan, Texas; sister, Nancy Willingham of Sherman, Texas; sister-in-law, Evie Irvin of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Sara Reynolds and husband, Josh Gedlick, of Ashland, Oregon; Eli Reynolds of Vancouver, Washington; Emily Reynolds of Boardman, Oregon; Jessica and Justin Bryan, of Abilene, Texas; Jordan Reynolds of Pottsboro; and Morgan Reynolds of Allen; great-grandchildren, Kyla Reynolds of Ashland; Anderson Bryan of Abilene; and Benjamin Bryan of Abilene; numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of friends. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years; and one son, Stephen Reynolds.
