Established 1948 The family of Etta Ophelia Gilbert Wall Robertson celebrated the life of their loved one who was called home to be with her Lord on June 1, 2009. The service was held at the Sherman Church of the Nazarene, 601 N. F.M. 1417, Sherman, Texas on Saturday afternoon, June 6, 2009 with Rev. Mack Rogers officiating. Ophelia was born to James Albert Gilbert and Miley Josephine Wilson Gilbert in Guy, Arkansas on April 12, 1915. She married Eddie A. Wall of Sherman in 1931 where they worked side-by-side In the grocery business beginning in 1939 until his death in 1970. Ophelia continued to work at Piggly Wiggly in east Sherman until she retired at the age of 81. Eddie and Ophelia had two children born to this marriage, a daughter, Frankie Josephine, and a son, Eddie, and made Sherman their home. She later married Cleo Robertson of Sherman in 1976 and renewed friendship with his children, Lavinia Williams, Gene Robertson and Linda Somers. Ophelia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eddie A. Wall; husband Cleo Robertson; brothers, Henry Evans Gilbert, John Gilbert, Jim Gilbert, Frank Gilbert, Clyde Gilbert, and Carrol Dean Gilbert; sister Icle Lee Miller; and nephews, Gary Gilbert and Ronnie Harris. She is survived by her daughter, Frankie Josephine Little, and husband, George, of Kerrville, Texas; son, Eddie C. Wall and wife Donna, of Plano, Texas; brother, Rev. J. D. Gilbert of New Haven Missouri; sister-in-law, Dolores Gilbert of Citrus Heights, Calivornia; grandsons, Larry Monroe and wife, Carolyn, of Howe Texas; Gary Monroe and wife, Debbie, of Bells, Texas; Randy Monroe and wife, Melissa, of Sherman Texas; and Jason Wall of Sherman, Texas; great-grandsons, Todd and Brian Ray, Tanner and Janson Wall and Justin Monroe and wife, Rayna; great-granddaughters Michelle Lane, Melanie Monroe Fair, Heather Monroe White, Amanda Stephen Meek and Sarah Monroe; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sherman Church of the Nazarene Building Fund or to a charity of your choice.
