Established 1948 Alice Robbins 27 October 1917 - 21 November 2009 US Army The Herald Democrat 24 Nov 2009 SHERMAN - Alice Glidewell Robbins, 92, died November 21, 2009 at Texoma Health Care in Sherman. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, November 25 at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Roland Ouelette of East Sherman Baptist Church officiated, assisted by Rev. Claude Robbins. Internment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Alice was born October 27, 1917 near Whitewright, daughter of Claude Oscar and Sara Ellen Ruth Robbins. She was employed 17 years with the Federal Land Bank association of Sherman. She retired as office manager December 31, 1983. Alice had been a member of East Sherman Baptist Church since 1947. She enjoyed working with children and taught in the 5 year old department for more than 30 years. She also served in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) during World War II. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 3 brothers, O.A., J.W. and J.E. Robbins. Pallbearers were great-nephews Matt Robbins, Rusty Hall, Derek Robbins, John Robbins, Toby Robbins and Lane Watson. Memorial may be made to East Sherman Baptist Church, 910 E.
