Established 1948   The Herald Democrat June 3, 2012 Sherman - A Celebration of Life services for Florence Robinson, 98, were held Monday afternoon at Waldo Funeral Home chapel with Pastor David Murphy officiating. Interment followed in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Florence was born October 23, 1913 in Denton County, daughter of Sam Washburn and Annie Copeland Washburn and was welcomed into Heaven on Friday, June 1, 2012 from Gunter. Florence worked as a homemaker and was a wonderful cook and seamstress. She enjoyed working in her yard, crocheting, and making Barbie doll clothes and Christmas stockings for all her family. She married Donald Robinson on November 23, 1935 in Denton County. She was a member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Florence is survived by son, Robert F. Robinson and wife, Alice, of Bonham, Texas; daughter, Barbara Ann Ward of Hillsboro, Oregon; son, Jerry W. Robinson and wife, Martha, of Plano, Texas; daughter, Jackie Phillips of Ft. Worth; daughter, Donna Fay Bennett of Choctaw, Arkansas; son, Ronnie Robinson and wife, Laura, of Burleson, Texas; daughter, Linda Gracy and husband, Ronnie, of Claremore, Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Michael Robinson, Philip Robinson, Todd Phillips, Donnie Robinson, Trevor Robinson, and Sam Harlow. The Robinson family requests donations be made to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
