Established 1948  The Whitewright Sun April 8, 1971 pg. 2 Services were held Tuesday afternoon at Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel for Albert V. Roden, 78, of Savoy, a retired employe of the Hardwicke-Etter Co. Rev. Jimmy Sloan, pastor of the Savoy First Baptist Church, officiated with burial in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park of Sherman. Mr. Roden died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday in a Sherman hospital. He was born May 2, 1892 at Petty, Texas,son of Mr. and Mrs. James Roden. Mr. Roden married Miss Lucy Martin February 10, 1920 in Petty. They were residents of Sherman until his retirement in 1959, at which time they moved to Savoy. He was a member of the Methodist church and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife; 2 daughters, Mrs. Carl Trout and Mrs. Paul Henderson of Savoy; 2 brothers, Jim Ray and Ralph Roden of Clovis, New Mexico; one sister, Mrs. Charles Guynes of Houston; one granddaughter; and 2 great-grandchildren.
