Established 1948   The Herald Democrat June 15, 2010 SHERMAN - Funeral services for Coker "Ray" Raines Jr., age 68, of Sherman were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Gerald Dudley and Ronald Gann officiated the service and burial followed at the Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Sherman. Services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Ray was born on January 6, 1942, the son of Coker Raines Sr. and Rosie Hambright Raines. Mr. Raines passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2010 in Sherman. He was retired from Johnson & Johnson and was a member of the Dixie Baptist Church. Ray is survived by his wife Bertha Raines of Sherman; two daughters, Debbie Vawter and Penny Davis, both of Sherman; three sisters, Ruby Dudley of Sherman, Josie Hall of St. Joseph, Missouri and Martha Sanderson of Lewisville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Faith Vawter and Ashten Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Stella Kerr, Edna Gann and Lovetta Banister.
