December 30, 2010 Denison - Services for Elmer Clarence "Rusty" Russell of Ft. Worth were held Friday morning, December 31, 2010 in Cedarlawn Memorial Park with military graveside services conducted by Ft. Hood Honor Guard and the Achille Masonic Lodge No. 454. Rev. Bobby Hancock officiated; arrangements were under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home, Denison. He died Sunday, December 26, 2010 in Harris Methodist Hospital. Mr. Russell was born September 22, 1921 in Wapanucka, Oklahoma, son of Elmer Coy Russell and Sidney Leora Layland. He married Sarah Bothe on December 4, 1948 in Denison. He was employed by the Safeway plant in Denison and was a Baptist. He was a member of Achille Masonic Lodge No. 454 and served in the Army during World War II. Surviving are his son, Joseph Russell of Ft. Worth; stepdaughter, Sue Russell, of Denton; 6 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
