Established 1948 Tanja was born in Sherman, Texas on September 4, 1958, daughter of Billy and Wanda Hazelwood Rushing. She was a graduate of Tom Bean Schools in 1978. She began working at Sherman Public Library with the Ceta Program at the age of 16. Having loved working with books, she remained at the library after graduation and worked there until her husband's job took them to Richmond. In 1999 she soon became an employee of the State of Virginia Library for the past 15 years. She was a very unique person, always taking care of other people, at present, when at work she was caring for a neighbor, Courtney, who had broken a hip. Tanja met her Lord and Saviour as a member of Crutchfield Heights Ba ptist Church inSherman. So today she is safe in the arms of Jesus. She was a daibetic and a cancer survivor. She was loved and will be missed by many family and friends. Tanja is survived by her Mom and step-dad, Wanda Rushing Reichert and Danny Reichert of Sherman; brothers, Larry and Toby Rushing of Sherman; sister Edwina and husband, Buddy Clingman, of Emmett, Arkansas; step-brothers and spouses, Dusty, Dennis, Douglas, Josh and Ben Reichert; and step-sister, Debby Wilson; mother-in-law, Betty Rhodes of Sherman. She is blessed with nieces Falynn Flamont, Frankie Rushing of Denison; Carly Robinson and Sydney Haynie of Emmett, Arkansas; Nephews and spouses, Sean Bradshaw of Hope, Arkansas. Several step-nieces and nephews of both Texas and Arkansas. She is survived with aunts and uncles, Mildred and Olan Bullard; Vick; Billie Hazelwood; Norma Hazelwood; Peggy and Rob Bailey of Pensacola, Florida; James Hazelwood of Sherman; serveral step-aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her Dad, Billy Frank Rushing; her grandparents, Raymond and Mary Hazelwood; and Aunt Bea Hazelwood; and uncle Bobbie Hazelwood. What a joy for God to send her our way for the past 58 years. She will be missed so very much by all her family and host of firends. We know God loves us and will care for her. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, September 22, at Waldo Funeral Home chapel in Sherman. Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
