Established 1948 Horace
Aaron Roberson was born September 7, 1942, son of Aaron Monroe Roberson
and Mirtie Coffin Roberson. He grew up in Denison, Texas and
graduated from Denison High School in 1961. Horace was well-liked
and elected Mr. DHS his Senior Year. Horace was drafted into the U.S. Army in April of 1964 during the Vietnam Conflict. He was stationed in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri when he met the love of his life, Bevelyn Sue Cromer. Horace was sent to Vietnam in August of 1965. He was a member of the 27th Battalion, 58th Light Tran. In April of 1966 Horace returned to Denison, Texas where he married Sue on May 7, 1966. They celebrated 54 years of marriage in May of this year. After Horace's return from Vietnam, he learned the plumbing trade. While working at Neal's Plumbing, he met Len Sisemore. They decided to start their own business. Sisemore and Roberson Plumbing, which they ran for many years. After Len's passing Horace ran Roberson Plumbing until his retirement. Horace was a deacon at Harless Methodist Church for many years and enjoyed serving the Lord. He was instrumental in rebuilding the church after it burned in 1979. Horace loved to fish and hunt with family and friends. Enjoying time on the lake, participating in fishing tournaments and spending time at his deer lease were some of his favorite things to do. He was a great storyteller and would spend hours telling stories of his tour in Vietnam or tales about his fishing adventures. Horace passed away at the Clyde Cosper Veterans Home at the age of 78 on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 after a long illness; Horace was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of Denison, Texas; daughter, Tonya Emery and husband, Kevin, of Denison, Texas; daughter, Jennifer Bodnyk and husband, Dane, of Gunter, Texas. Horace is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Hunter Emery; Austin Emery; Jack Stevens; Sydney Bodnyk; and Ford Bodnyk. Funeral services were held Saturday morning, October 31, 2020 at Fisher Funeral Home. A private interment at Cedarlawn Memorial Park was held. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.
