Maurine Riggins 20 September 1919 - 12 March 2011 Robert Riggins 3 January 1919 - 15 December 2001 Sergeant US Army WWII Purple Heart  DENISON – Gladys Maurine Riggins, 91, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Denison Manor. Visitation for Maurine will be from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Bratcher Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Keith Taylor and Chaplain Mike Hermanson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, 5805 Texoma Parkway, Sherman, TX 75090. Maurine was born September 20, 1919 in Ector, Texas, the daughter of Alton Lorance and Mattie Prater. She married Robert Riggins on November 8, 1942 in Durant, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Denison since the 1970s; was retired from Denison School District cafeteria system; loved to cook & crochet; enjoyed traveling & camping. Maurine is survived by grandchildren Marta Akers & husband Darron of Aubrey, TX, Chance Riggins & wife Maria of Champaign, IL, Gordon Riggins & wife Margaret of Brenham, TX; sister-in-law Carolyn Riggins of Denison; nephews & nieces Robert Meeks & wife Elizabeth of Denison; Mike Earnhart & wife Melissa of Denison, Pat Green of Denison, Linda Riggins of Denison. She was preceded in death by husband Robert; son Rick "Shy" Riggins; sisters Cuba Littrell, Louise Meeks, Dorothy Earnhart; brothers Raymond Lorance & James Lorance. The family would like to thank her faithful caregivers Dupree Linsteadt, Jean Davis, Louise Kimbley, Gari Norwood and Guardian Home Hospice for their care of Maurine.
