Established 1948 Denison - Eldon Rucker Parker, 82, left this world to be with the Lord Thursday evening, October 28, 1999 at Texoma Medical Center. Mr. Parker was born August 7, 1917 in Wylie, Texas, son of Albert Parker and Edna Earl Rucker Parker. He married Inez Nelson on July 2, 1939 in Durant, Oklahoma. Mr. Parker worked as a conductor for the MKT Railroad for 36 years. He was a member of Waples Methodist Church, Good Sam's RV Club, and Elks Lodge No. 238. He had a warm heart and a deep love for his wife, family and friends. Funeral services were held Monday morning, November 1, 1999 at Bratcher Funeral Chapel in Denison. Rev. Ken Hildebrand officiated. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memroial Park in Sherman. Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Michael Taylor, Michael Parker, B.J. Parker/Terry, Gary Don Parker, Brent Watkins, Chase Day, and Eugene Roundtree. Surviving are his wife; daughter and son-in-law, John and Patricia Taylor of Denison; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Kitty Parker of Denison; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Dixie Parker of Pottsboro; sisters, Willie B. Rice of Sherman; Mary Markham of Denison; and Dorothy McBee of Georgetown; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation.
