Gladys M. Honeycutt Perkins went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2010 at the age of 82. She was peacefully surrounded by her family when she passed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Bertha (Bly) Honeycutt; her brothers Jessie "Junior" Honeycutt and Bobby Joe Honeycutt; her sisters Odessa Curtis, Dorothy Gonser, Edna Toppins and Ellean Bishop. 

Born June 28, 1927 in Sherman, Texas, Gladys was an ambitious young lady who worked at Burlington Industries in Sherman for many years. She married Bud Perkins in Sherman and became the mother of four and a homemaker. After raising her children, she went back to work for Austin College and at the Denison Girls Club. A devout Christian who loved people, Gladys was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Denison. She loved her church family and spent much of her time visiting and helping the needy. 
Gladys is survived by her children: Buddy and Olivia Perkins; Danny and Rhonda Perkins; Linda and Harvey Kimsey; and Janis and Chuck Willis. Gladys also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 26 great-great grandchildren, which proudly makes up eight sets of five generations. She is also leaving behind a dear friend and niece, Shirley Bishop. 
Friends and family were invited to gather for a celebration of Gladys' life starting Wednesday night, March 31, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home, 619 N. Travis St in Sherman. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, April 1, 2010 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel followed by burial at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. The eulogy was delivered by Jonah Saxon. Pallbearers were Gladys' grandsons, Terry Teel, Jason Kimsey, Ross Perkins, Matt Teel, Christopher Tolley, and Joe Dickinson.
