Established 1948 Denison Press Friday, April 15, 1960 Funeral services for C.C. Pittman, 85, who died Aptil 6, at Grand Falls, Texas, his home for the past 50 years, following a long illness, were conducted Saturday, the 9th. Rev. Carl Bilderback conducted the services and Bratcher directed with burail in Cedarlawn. PIttman was born in Macon, Georgia, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Pittman. Surviving are 3 sons, C.E. of Cartwright, Oklahoma; M.D. of Monahans and W.C. of Grand Falls, Texas. Daughters surviving are Mesdames W.M. Finks of Oakland, California; Dewey Hutcheson of Corpus Christi and Fred Sanders of Denison. Sherman Democrat December 1981 Chapel C. "Slim" Pittman, 61, of Denison died December 8, 1981 following a truck accident in Gurdon, Arkansas when the truck he was driving ran into the rear of a second truck that had stalled in the roadway of Interstate 30 and its lights were off in foggy weather. A driver for Allied Energy since 1967 who made runs to St. Louis, Kansas City and Little Rock, his destination at the time of the accident. Funeral services were held at Bratcher Chapel with burial in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Pittman was born in Grandfalls, Texas on March 14, 1920, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Pittman. He married Arlie Walton September 18, 1979 in Fannin County. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Baptist church and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife; sons, Douglas of Ellis Chapel; Ricky and Gary Pittman; step-son, Donnie Walton; daughters, Linda Faye Pittman, Stella Grant, and Anna Rice; brothers, M.D. Pittman and Willard Carrol Pittman; sisters, Irene Sinks, Beatrice Sanders, and Maude Hutchinson; 8 grandchildren.
