Established 1948   Julia McGregor 5 October 1943 - 6 October 2013  Julia Ann McGregor, 70, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Carrus Speciality Hospital in Sherman, Texas. Mrs. McGregor was born October 5, 1943 in Quitman, Mississippi, daughter of Frank Wright and Beulah Lee Watson Harris. She worked 18 years for Oscar Mayer and 8 years for Johnson & Johnson. Julia enjoyed flowers, especially her rose bushes in the yard. Her favorite thing was to read her Bible daily. Julia was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Mr. McGregor is survived by her sons, Earnest O. "Mac" McLain and wife, Leslie; and Tony McLain; and daughter, Zelta Smith, all of Denison, Texas; grandchildren, Becky Yarborough, Cameron McLain, Joshua Vick, Christina Vick and Mathew McLain; great-grandchidren, Haylee and Kobe Yarborough, Silas McLain and Tylee Ahhiatty; brother, Robert F. Harris and wife, Betty; and sister, Evie Lee Todd, all of Quitman, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Henry Harris, Julious E. Harris, Charles E. Harris, and Johnny D. Harris; sisters, Charlene Fuller, Sadie Blair and Effie Ernest. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, October 10, 2013 at New Beginnings Fellowship Church with Pastor Gene Amerson officiating. Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Joshua Vick, Cameron McLain, Bryan Connor, Marty Baker, Donny Dryden and J.E. "Bubba" Harris, Jr. Honorary pallbearer was Matthew McLain.
