Friday, December 28, 1956 pg. 6 Funeral services for Mrs. O.A. Melton, 74, of 1404 W. Morgan were held at Bratcher Funeral chapel Thursday morning with Rev. James Logan officiating. Interment was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Bratcher in charge. Mrs. Melton died in a local hospital Wednesday morning at 3:30 after 4 years of illness. She was in the hospital one day. Deceased was born in Bells March 4, 1882, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam McCleary. She attended school in Honey Grove and was married there September 25, 1901 to O.A. Melton, grocer man, now retired. They lived in the Oak Grove community before moving into Denison 6 years ago. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church. Survivors are her husband of Denison; 3 sons, Mark Melton of Denison; James Melton and Clyde Melton of Sherman; 2 daughters, Mrs. Ed Price, Sherman and Mrs. D.L. Aday, Denison; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The Denison Press Friday, September 13, 1957 pg. 6 Funeral services for Ollie Allen Melton, 1404 W. Morgan, were held at Bratcher Chapel Friday, September 6, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. James Logan officiating. Interment was in Cedarlawn with Bratcher directing. Mr. Melton died Wednesday, September 4, at 7:30 p.m., at a rest home in Savoy. He had been ill 5 months. Deceased was born in Honey Grove, January 15, 1875, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Melton. He was married September 25, 1901 to Elizabeth McCleary. He operated a grocery store in Oak Grove community before coming into Denison and he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He retired in 1950. Survivors include 3 sons, Mark Melton of Denison, James and Clyde of Sherman; 2 daughters, Mrs. Ed Price of Sherman and Mrs. D.L. Aday of Denison; a brother, Joe Melton of Powderly, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Ben Dickens of Ada, Oklahoma; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
