Established 1948 Nyla Ola Maxwell was born on December 29, 1925 in Gunter, Texas. She left this life on April 8, 2022 in Cypress, Texas. She and her husband, Isaac Maxwell, were lifelong residents of Sherman, Texas and active members of the Wood Street Church of Christ. Nyla is survived by her daughter, Nyla Kay Slattery and husband, Joe, of Shreveport, Louisiana; and her son, Issac Glen Maxwell and wife, Susan, of Conroe, Texas; granddaughters, Julie Schneider and Allison Romo; Grandson, Tyler Maxwell; great-grandchildren: Ciara Schneider, Jacoby Schneider, Ayden Romo and Caleb Romo; great-great-grandson, Cayden Brown. Also she is survived by her sisters, Threeca Vandergriff and brother-in-law, George L. Vandergriff of Bolivar, Texas; and Lynda Colston of Garland, Texas; and sister-in-law, Imogene Gideon of Mansfield, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Nyla is preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Maxwell; her brothers, Gansford Jones, Charles Edwin Jones and Bobby Glen Jones; her sisters, Cora Lee Oakley, Flora Belle Lambert, Altha Tommie Popham; and daughter-in-law, Pamela Maxwell. A service celebrating the life of Nyla Maxwell was held April 12, 2022 at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel, Sherman, Texas. Officiating was Stephanie Hillberry, Bristol Park Chaplin, Cypress, Texas.
