February 20, 2009 Sunray - Rev. Roy L. Martin, 59, died Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. in Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Crawford, lay pastor of Duncan, Oklahoma, officiating. Services were held Monday afternoon in Grayson Bible Baptist Church in Sherman with Rev. Eddy Johnson, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Arrangements were by Morrison Funeral Directors and Waldo Funeral Home of Sherman. Rev. Martin was born June 18, 1949 in Sherman, Texas, son of Douglas and Tressie Martin. On June 15, 1968 he married Carolyn Knox in Sherman, Texad. He had been the pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Sunray for 3 years. He was a former pastor of Ennis, Bonham, Denison and Bowie churches. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife; 2 daughters, Karie Lowry and husband, Charles; and Jennifer Stubblefield and husband, Ty; all of Pampa; a brother, Doyle Martin and wife, Kathy of Cave Creek, Arizona; 2 sisters, Frances Hobbs and husband, Virgil; and Berniece Fogarty and husband, Bob, all of Sherman; and 5 grandchildren, Rylee M., and Alyssa P. Lowry; Brynna M. McKinney and Cassie and Korie Stubblefield. The family suggest memorials be made to Bible Baptist Church, Sunray, Texas.
