Myers 30 April 1925 - 30 APril 2013 Virginia Jean Myers 17 December 1927 - 22 June 2012 Sherman - Virginia Jean Myers, 84, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012 at her residence in Sherman. Graveside services were held at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman Monday morning, June 25, 2012. Pastor Mike Wilhoite, her great-nephew, officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. Virginia was born December 17, 1927 in Dallas, daughter of Lonnie Mulder and Helen Mullnix Mulder. She was Valedictorian of her graduating class at Van Alstyne High School. After her children were grown, she became a Licensed Vocation Nurse, employed at Wilson N. Jones Hospital and eventually retiring from there after 25 years of service. Virginia loved to travel and was fortunate enough to be able to travel worldwide. She visited Israel, Egypt, Switzerland, and England, only to name a few. She traveled to every state in the United States. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; and great-grandson, Bryce. She is survived by her husband, Roy Myers, of Sherman; two daughters, Debbie Sasser and husband, Ervin, of Sherman and Martha Hariman and husband, Jarrod, of Gunter; granddaughters, Connie Hartwig and husband, Lee, of Sherman; Amy Sasser and husband, Tim, of Sherman; Angelia Smith and husband, Justin, of Duncan, Oklahoma; Jennifer Barnes and husband, Don, of Sherman; great-grandchildren, Emily and Abby Hartwig of Sherman; Presley and Cason Gray of Sherman; Kaydence Smith of Duncan, Oklahoma; Austin Milligan and Harmony Barnes of Sherman; brothers, Tommy Joe Keeling and wife, Carol, of Plano; and Billy Hugh Mulder and wife, Rilla, of Lancaster. - - - Dannel Funeral Home Roy Weldon Myers, 88, passed away on April 30, 2013 at his residence in Sherman. A graveside service was held Friday afternoon, May 3, 2013 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Pastor Mark Wilhoite of Ft. Worth officiated. Roy was born April 30, 1925, son of Jesse Myers and Hallie Hunt Myers. He graduated from Gunter High School. Roy and his father owned the Ice House in Van Alstyne. During his working years, he also worked at Line Material in Sherman, and then later founded and retired from Myers Sales & Service Heating and Air Conditioning Company. On June 3, 1946 Roy married the love of his life, Virginia Mulder, in Van Alstyne. They were married for 67 wonderful years until her passing in 2012. He was a member of North Park Baptist Church. Roy entered the United States Navy in 1943 and served in World War II until 1946. He was on board the USS Makin Island during this time. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and great-grandson, Bryce Hodge.
