Marshall 1881 - 1949 The Denison Press Friday, February 15, 1957 pg. 4 Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Mattie Marshall were held at the Morton Street Church of Christ Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock with Johnny Jackson, pastor of the church and Rev. Earnest L. Potter, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Flesher Funeral Home of Whitewright in charge. Mrs. Marshall died at Madonna Hospital Sunday at 9:30 p.m.. She was a native Texan and was born November 28, 1889. She was the widow of Thomas C. Marshall, who died in Van Alstyne in 1950. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Nova Davison, Sherman; Mrs. Elizabeth Owens, Garland; Mrs. Velma Williams, Denison; three sons, W.B. and Cleophus Marshall, Denison; and P.B. Marshall, Dallas; three sisters; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Margie L. Todd Catteau and Rev. Jerry Hodge officiating. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home. He died Wednesday at his home He was born June 14, 1919 in Frisco to Thomas and Martha Marshall. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Margie Lee Smith on September 15, 1945 in Sherman. He retired from Pillsbury in 1980. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, B.P. Marshall and William Marshall; and his sisters, Elizabeth Owens and Keat Williams. Survivors include his wife; his son, Keith Marshall of Denison; his sister, Nova Dollison of Sherman; and 2 grandchildren. DENISON – Margie Lee Marshall, 87, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Beacon Hill Nursing Home in Denison. Funeral service for Margie were held at 10 A. M., Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Park Avenue Church of Christ, 3000 S. Park Ave., Denison, Jerry Hodge and Basil McClure officiating. Pallbearers were Jason Marshall, Britt McKinney, Bobby Householder, Harold Spencer, James Blackstock & Lloyd Smith. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, 5805 Texoma Parkway, Sherman, Texas. Margie was born October 25, 1923 in Van Alstyne, Texas, the daughter of Sam Smith & Cecil Haliburton. She married Cleophas Marshall in Sherman on September 15, 1945. She was a member of Park Avenue Church of Christ and a homemaker. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchild; traveled many miles to the ball games for her family. She is survived by son Keith Marshall & wife Sheri of Denison; brother Tommy Smith & wife Melba of Van Alstyne; sister Jessie Harper & husband Roy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Billye Smith of McKinney; grandchildren Jason Marshall & wife Fawn of Coppell; Keri McKinney & husband Britt of Prosper; great-grandchild Cooper Marshall. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Dean, Hank & Harold Smith. Arrangements are entrusted to Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard Street, Denison, Texas.
