Established 1948 Denison, Texas- Jackson Monroe McDonald, 66, of Denison passed away on June 11, 2008 at Lifecare Hospital in Plano, Texas. Mr. MacDonald was born August 8, 1941 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, son of Jackson and Dessie Vay Teeter McDonald. He married Virginia Newell on April 15, 1980 in Durant, Oklahoma. They were married for 28 years. Mr. McDonald was a graduate of Denison High School. He served as a Private First Class in the United States Army. He started a career at Piggly Wiggly, then became employed by MKT Railroad, Frisco Railroad where he became a conductor, and then Burlington Northern Railroad where he continued in the same capacity until his retirement. He was also a member of the V.F.W, Moose Lodge, Elks lodge, American Legion, and Southside Baptist Church. Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife, Virginia of Denison; sons, John McDonald and Jim Holcomb of Denison; sister, Helen Blankenship and husband, Jake, of Olathe, Kansas; grandchildren, Joey, Jennifer, Jessica and Colton McDonald and Chris Holcomb; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, J.D. McDonald; and son, Jeff McDonald. Services for Mr. McDonald were held Monday afternoon, June 16, 2008, at the Chapel on the Hill, Cedarlawn Mausoleum, Sherman, Texas. Officiating were Rev.
