Established 1948 Lula May Lyday, born September 1, 1953, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 5, 2023. She was a devoted and beloved sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lula May attended Terrell High School. She worked at Mrs. King's Bakery (currently Ya-Hoo Bakery) for many years. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed cooking for her family, especially on holidays and Super Bowl Sunday. One of her most favorite pastimes was spending time with her family and just hanging out with them when they came to town. She was also a big fan of 2PAC and Charlie Wilson. She especially loved going to eat at her favorite restaurants with her family - Pappadeaux and Uncle Julios. She leaves behind her beloved family where he memory will always live on. Son, Terrance Lyday of Denison, Texas; Daughters: Marlene Lyday and Kayla Lyday, both of Denison, Texas Grandsons: Terrance "TJ" Taylor and Tre'lon Lyday, both of Denison; La'Darrious Turner of Sherman and Jazadrian Lyday of Columbus, Ohio Granddaughters: Kardae Lyday and Kyara Medford of Denison, Texas Great-granddaughters: Liliana Gentil of Houston, Texas and Devyn Taylor of Sherman Texas Sisters: Evelyn Owens and Frankie Jackson of Denison, Texas; Eva Price and husband, Frank, of Temple, Texas; Kathleen Jones of Austin, Texas; Annie Laura Watkins of Utah Brother: James M. Lyday, Sr. and wife, Charlesetta, of Wichita, Kansas And a host of nieces and nephews. Lula was preceded in death by her mother, Stella Lyday and father, Jay Johnson; and brother, William Lyday. Funeral service for Mrs. Lyday was held Saturday morning, February 11, 2023 at Trinity Lighthouse Church. Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas.
