Established 1948   Mattie Pearce Long 2 June 1901 - 26 January 1975 Mrs. Long was born in Waldron, Arkansas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Pearce. She died in a local hospital in Sherman, Texas She lived in the Sherman and Howe area since 1930. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her son, Jessie Lee Long, of Mesquite, Texas; daughters, Mrs. Paul Trotter and Mrs. Bill Jennings of Howe; and Mrs. C. W. Hubler of Eureka, California; brother, R.W. Pearce of Wichita, Kansas; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Waldo Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Melvin R. James of the Assembly of God Church. Full obituary was published in the Sherman Democrat on January 29, 1975, pg 12.
