Established 1948   Shannon Long 1963 - 2012 Lin Long 1955 -  The Herald Democrat January 6, 2012 Gunter - Funeral services for Shannon Leah Long were held Saturday afternoon, January 7, 2012 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Rev. David Murphy of North Park Baptist Church officiating; services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mrs. Long, 48, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ. Shannon was born May 17, 1963 in McKinney, daughter of John and Wynell Carrell Johnson. She graduated from Prosper schools in 1981 and attended Wayland Baptist College in Plainview. On March 25, 1989, Shannon and Lin Long were married in McKinney. She was a devoted homemaker who loved and adored her 3 grandchildren. Shannon was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gunter. Mrs. Long is survived by her husband of Gunter; 2 children, Ryan Long of Gunter and Nycole Winchester and husband, Frank, of Collinsville; 3 grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as "NeNe" - Shelby Parsons, Addyson Winchester and Bradley Winchester, all of Collinsville; brother, Greg Johnson and wife, Paula, of Ft. Worth; sister, Sheryle Leonard and husband, Dennis, of Cumming, Georgia; parents of Gunter; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Phyllis and Hubert Long, of Sherman.
