Established 1948    Sherman - Graveside funeral services for Hilda Lewis were held Tuesday morning, February 26 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mrs. Lewis passed, 90, away Friday, February 22, at her home in Sherman. Hilda "Dimps" was born October 12, 1922 in South Hampton, England. While serving in the British military during World War II, she met an American soldier named Lisbon D. Lewis and was married on May 2, 1945 in England. Hilda and L.D. lived in Sherman for many years; and she retired from Johnson & Johnson after 30 years employment. After 64 years of marriage, Mr. Lewis passed away in August 2009. Mrs. Lewis is survived by 2 sons, Joe Lewis of Euless and Paul Lewis of Savoy; one daughter, Lynette Quiroto. of Sherman; 4 grandchildren, Trisha Heyne and husband, Greg, of McKinney; Katie Coble and husband, Russell, of Denison; Charlie Quirolo and wife, Misty, of Denison; and Lois Jean Kobe of New York; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Blackman of England; and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Molly Ann and Orville Castleberry of Little Rock.
