- Funeral for William Paul Lance, 72, of Denison, who died Sunday at
his residence were held Wednesday morning in the Johnson-Moore Funeral
Home. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Anthony bryant
officiating. Lance was born July 28, 1919 in Grayson County, son of William Oscara and Pearl Anderson Lance. He married Fannie Opal Plexco September 19, 1942 in Madill, Oklahoma. He retired from Central Freight Lines where he was a truck driver for 34 years. Lance was a member of the Texoma Heart Club and Park Avenue Church of Christ. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. Surviving are his wife; daughter, Paulette Lawrence of Plano; 2 brothers, Lloyd and Howard, both of Denison; 3 sisters, Margie Foust, Rachel Lashley, both of Denison; and Veta Lee of Sherman; 2 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Walter Clark, Floyd Lowe, Leo McKee, Bil Crumby, Mead Owens, Raymond Shires, Efton Towers, M.L. McCowen, Clifford Tinkle, Clint Henning, and Harry Scott.
