Bells,
Texas -- Graveside services for James Hoyt Layman were held at 10:00
a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman,
Texas. Reverend Bill Neal, Jr. officiated.
Hoyt is
survived by sons Danny Layman and his wife Donna of Holly Lake Ranch
and Lowell Layman of Bells, daughters Cindy Stout and her husband Larry
of Woodinville, WA and Angela Slate and her husband Jeff of Pottsboro,
brothers Tom Layman and his wife Dorothy of Sherman and Ross Layman and
his wife Betty of Whitewright, grandchildren Derron, Danielle, Daven,
Brandon, Kalie and Delaney, 12 great grandchildren and daughter-in-law
Sherra Layman of Denison.
Hoyt was preceded in death by his parents, wife Geneva, sons Jerry and Garrry Layman, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Hoyt
was born on March 4, 1927 in Whitewright, Texas to Charlie and Mable
Blanton Layman. He married Geneva Nelson on September 29,
1945. He and Geneva were married for 50 years before her death in
1995. Hoyt retired from Johnson & Johnson as a machine
operator. He was a member and served as a Deacon of the First
Baptist Church in Bells for over 50 years.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Hoyt’s name to the First Baptist Church, Building Fund, Bells, TX 75414.
The family would like the thank the staff of The Terrace in Denison, Texas for their excellent loving care they gave Hoyt.

BELLS -
Services for Geneva Layman, 68-year-old Bells resident, will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday in the First Baptist Church of Bells. She died Wednesday at
Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman.
The Rev. Barry
Barnett, Rev. James Olin Henry and Stephen Ballard will officiate with burial
in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Arrangements
are by Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells.
Mrs. Layman was
born in the Fairview community (Savoy), the daughter of Willie Lee Nelson and Emma
Reeves Nelson. She married Hoyt Layman Sept. 29, 1945, in Sherman.
She retired
from Texas Instruments and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bells.
Surviving are
her husband; sons, Gary Layman of Ada, Okla., Lowell Layman of Bells and Danny
Layman of Garland; daughters, Cindy Seltz of Dallas and Angela Slate of Plano;
brothers, Pete Nelson of Denison; sister Juanita Meade of Achille, Okla.; five
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers
will be David Layman, Bobby Layman, Allen Layman, Andy Layman, Bobby Meade,
Donald Nelson, Brandon Seltz and Deron Layman.
Researcher Note: James Hoyt Layman was the grandson of Thomas Jefferson Blanton and Eliza Jane
Smith. He was the great grandson of Fannin County, Texas pioneers Josiah
Blanton and Lucy Westbrook.
